This project focused on resolving regulatory certification challenges and building the commercialization infrastructure for ClampNCharge, an innovative cord mounted power access device designed to deliver limited Class 2 power output from existing electrical cords.
The product architecture combines two regulatory domains that are typically evaluated separately. The input interface operates similarly to cord mounted current taps evaluated under UL 498, while the output stage functions as a limited energy power unit consistent with UL 1310 Class 2 power supply requirements.
Because this hybrid architecture does not cleanly fit into a single existing product category, the objective of this project was to strategically manage the certification pathway, align the product with the appropriate testing authority, and simultaneously build the digital infrastructure required for regulatory communication, technical documentation management, and future market readiness.
By addressing certification alignment and commercialization infrastructure in parallel, the project ensures the product can transition efficiently from regulatory review to market launch once certification is achieved.
The strategy for this project was built around three coordinated pillars: certification pathway alignment, technical communication management, and commercialization infrastructure development.
First, the certification pathway was analyzed to determine the most effective route for evaluating a hybrid electrical product that combines features traditionally covered under both UL 498 and UL 1310 standards. Because the product had been placed into the New and Innovative category during initial evaluation, the strategy focused on aligning the product with a testing authority experienced in evaluating emerging electrical technologies and non standard product classifications.
Second, all technical communication and certification correspondence were structured and centralized. This included organizing engineering documentation, safety reports, and product specifications to ensure consistent technical interpretation by regulatory engineers and testing laboratories. By standardizing documentation and communication channels, the project reduces redundant analysis, improves reviewer clarity, and accelerates certification dialogue.
Third, a centralized digital technical command center was developed to serve as the authoritative repository for all compliance related information. This infrastructure hosts safety documentation, certification reports, regulatory filings, and intellectual property records in a structured and accessible format. The platform supports efficient communication with testing laboratories, manufacturers, distributors, and regulatory stakeholders while also preparing the product for future commercial launch.
This combined strategy ensures that certification progress, technical documentation management, and brand infrastructure development advance simultaneously rather than sequentially.

The outcome of this project is the creation of a structured regulatory pathway and operational infrastructure supporting the certification and commercialization of ClampNCharge.
The certification strategy clarifies the appropriate evaluation framework for a hybrid electrical product operating across UL 498 current tap functionality and UL 1310 Class 2 limited power output standards. This alignment significantly reduces regulatory ambiguity and improves the efficiency of certification review.
Additionally, the centralized technical infrastructure provides a single source of truth for all product documentation, including safety reports, certification correspondence, and engineering specifications. This improves communication with regulatory authorities and reduces friction during compliance review.
From a commercialization perspective, the infrastructure developed during this project also prepares the brand for distributor engagement, manufacturing coordination, and retail readiness. With certification strategy, compliance documentation, and digital infrastructure in place, the product is positioned for rapid transition from regulatory evaluation to market deployment.
